Preparing for Your First Visit
Thank you for choosing The Black Rabbit skin clinic; an emotionally safe and judgement-free skin sanctuary, welcoming members of the LBGTIQ+, Neurodivergent, or Alternative communities, and anyone who's ever felt out of place in traditional beauty spaces. We understand that entering a new space and meeting new people can be intimidating. Here, your comfort always comes first.
If you've booked your first Skin Discovery Session with us, you'll be emailed before your visit with any information you may need.
For information pertaining to massage and beauty treatment prep, please read on.

If you need to bring a fidget toy or comfort item, please do so.
-
You’ll be offered a herbal tea on arrival; if you have a favourite blend, let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to have it ready.
-
To further personalise your treatment, we're always happy to play whatever music helps you relax. If you have a favourite genre, artist, or album you love to listen to, let us know at your appointment or in advance.
-
If there are any other accommodations that wil help you feel more at home, let us know and we'll always do our best.
Arriving at Your Appointment
To ensure every client receives a private, personal, and peaceful experience, we kindly ask that you arrive at your scheduled appointment time — not earlier.
As we operate by appointment only, and treatments can sometimes run back-to-back, we are unable to accommodate early arrivals. There may also be times when we're opening the clinic specifically for you. If you’re running early, please wait until your appointment time before coming to the door or ringing the buzzer.
This helps us maintain a calm, uninterrupted environment for all clients.
Preparing for Lash Tint, Brow Tint, or Brow Wax
To ensure the best results and prevent interference with tinting or waxing products, please arrive with:
-
No mascara
-
No brow pencil, pomade, gel, or powder
-
No makeup around the eyes or brows
-
No retinol, acids, or exfoliants around the eye/brow area for 2 days before your appointment
Clean, product-free skin helps the tint take evenly and ensures waxing is both safe and effective.
Preparing for Massage Treatments
Massage treatments at The Black Rabbit skin clinic are professional, private, and always conducted with care and respectful draping.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing. Underwear must stay on at all times, but please choose a pair that you don’t mind getting a small amount of massage oil on.
Undressing Requirements for Specific Areas
To allow your therapist to work effectively and safely:
For back massages:
-
The full back, neck, and shoulders are treated.
-
High-waisted garments (pants, leggings, or skirts) will need to be removed or tucked down.
-
Underwear may be gently tucked down slightly to allow access to the lower back — draping will always ensure you remain covered.
-
Bras will need to be removed to allow access to the upper back and shoulders.
For leg massages:
-
Pants, stockings, or leggings will need to be removed.
-
Underwear stays on, and draping will cover you securely.
At no point will you be exposed — we use professional draping techniques so only the area being worked on is uncovered.
